All Saints Day… much more than chrysanthemums!

All Saints Day and the Day of the Dead arrive again and it is time to remember our beloved and admired ones who have already left. Tradition leads us to visit their tombs and honour them with flowers.

On the one hand, the Mercat de Flor et Planta Ornamental de Catalunya offers you its wide assortment of chrysanthemums, in a multitude of colours and presentations of all kinds, cut flowers or potted plants, which gives us colour on these autumn dates.

But most importantly, we have our own seasonal plants and flowers, which include cyclamens and viola wittrockiana, calluna, foliage and even pumpkins for Halloween. And of course, one of the largest selections of cut flowers and bouquets.

We resume our usual timetable: mornings from 9 to 13h and afternoons from 15 to 17h

From Monday 4th September, the Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya will resume the normal hours of Direct Selling Hall, opening on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm.

The Mercat offices will also be reopened from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.

The Mercat on summer: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8 to 13h.

29From 3rd July to 1st September -both included- the Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya will open according to the summer timetable that has been already used last years.

Thus, the days and hours of operation of the direct sales market will be:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 13 hours.

Afternoons closed.

Regarding to the office hours, the market will be at your service from Monday to Friday from 8 to 16 hours.

 

The Mercat will be present at the Salon du Végétal

The Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya participates again at the Salon du Végétal, which this year takes place from 20 to 22 June in the city of Nantes in France. We will be present in an information stand located in hall XXL, in the area dedicated to the Production, under the wings of FEPEX (Spanish Federation of Producers Exporters), along with other Catalan companies.

The Mercat will attend this important event in order to attract new customers in France and let them know the commercial services they offer, such as grouped shopping and transportation of a wide range of flowers and plants at a very competitive prices.

The Salon du Végétal release dates and new location this year 2017. After many years when this fair was made in the city of Angers in February, this year it moved to Nantes in late June with the aim of attracting more visitors and encourage businesses, which had gradually decreased.

According to the organisation, “over the years, holding the trade show in February has become more and more challenging: School holiday season and an already well advanced trading season. Visitors surveys and discussions with some exhibitors, buyers and stakesholders have allowed to define a time more appropriated to business. The Salon du Végétal will be hold on 20, 21 and 22 June 2017, a good period for all the categories of buyers and for many reasons:

– For distribution and production, it is after the full season of spring, and this period is fertile for ideas and references and to prepare the next season
– Florists are more available, as the major events have passed by
– For landscapers and town councils, demonstrations outside are a key point
– Plants and new varieties are in full flower
– Prototypes of manufactured products further advanced and thus ready to be unveiled or even ready for market.
– A time (Summer beginning) good for business and conviviality”.

Changing the exhibition city it’s because “the Salon du Végétal fair continues its search for excellence in order to take our place among the greatest events aimed at the flowers & plants, gardening and nature in the cities world. Exhibition in Nantes means “a larger exhibition area, inside and outside, that will allow to present a wider offer and therefore to attract more professional buyers”

We raffle a carry with flowers, plants and floristry accessories

During the Mercat GREAT WEEK we will raffle every day of Direct sales a TROLLEY with flowers, plants and floristry accessories between buyers attending and being credited at Information desk.

It’s easy to participate: just go through the Information Desk, credite you as a BUYER of the Mercat and we’ll give you a ticket to put in the box of the draw.

 

BASIS

  1. The Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya will raffle three trolleys of flowers, plants and floristry accessories, during the Great Week. A trolley each day of sale, it is, MONDAY 9th March, WEDNESDAY, 11th March and Friday 13th March.
  2. The draw will take place publicly extracting the ticket from a ballot box placed in the Mercat information desk each day of sale (9th, 11th and 13th March) at 16 hours.
  3. All buyers registered in the database of the Mercat can participate in this contest being previously credited to the reception desk. After verifying their validity, they will be allowed to fill a participation ticket and put it on the ballot box. It’s possible to participate once per day market.
  4. Acceptance of the prize means that the winner allows to publish their name and make use of his image, for commercial and/or promotion Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya purposes.
  5. All buyers registered in the database of the Mercat who accomplish the requirements of these rules can participate.
  6. The period of participation will be during the course of the GREAT WEEK Monday 9th March, Wednesday 11th March and Friday 13th March.
  7. Partners and users of the Mercat de Flor i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya SAT can not participate in the draw.
  8. The organization reserves the right to change or modify the rules of the draw, if deemed appropriate to resolve any dispute that might result.
